概述

1.Introduction to electromechanical energy conversion principles, characteristics and applications of transformers, synchronous machines, induction machines, and DC machines, single-phase and special purpose motors. 2.Students will develop a basic understanding of electromechanical energy conversion principles, including the linear analysis of single phase and three-phase transformers, alternating current and direct current electric machines.

Application of basic circuit theory and vector mathematics for linear analysis of single phase and three-phase alternating current and direct current electric machines.

評分方式

作業部份: Homework will typically be assigned on a weekly basis. No late homework will be accepted unless previously authorized by the instructor. I encourage discussion of solution techniques with your fellow students, but you must independently formulate your submitted results. 考試部份: Exams are open book and closed notes with two 8.5x11 (INCHES) formula sheets allowed. Formula sheets cannot have solved problems and must be attached to the exam. The final exam is open book and closed notes with six 8.5x11 (INCHES) formula sheets allowed. Absences from exams must be preceded by a valid excuse. In the event of a valid excused absence it is the student’s responsibility to contact the instructor to arrange for a make-up exam prior to the regularly scheduled exam. 評量部份: Quiz 1 17%; written, open book Quiz 2 17%; written, open book Quiz 3 17%; written, open book Final 30%; written, open book Participation & Project 20%; required
