數位科技無所不在,沒有一項媒體的發明如數位科技如此這般出現在生活的各個角落。數位科技為世界帶來前所未有的改變與希望。這些變化與可能往往突破以往「既定」的範疇、規範或界線,經由參與者的不同使用、傳播或介入而消解各種形式的社會疆界,促進(新)群體之形成以及讓有別於以往的群眾運動得以發起。本課程將透過「數位」與「人類」兩個向度,觀察數位科技及其發明如何被人們所取用,以達成資訊交流、社群連結、政治訴求、弱勢群體發聲或經濟活動之轉型或轉化。 另外,數位連結、線上世界的浮現,挑戰並質疑傳統人類學以地方為基底的民族誌構想。數位科技與數位文化帶出的現象,動搖了人類學關於文化、族群、地方或認同的諸多定義,模糊了現存的社會文化或族群、性別與階級之區隔與區辨。這些撼動學科基底的問題現象,迫使人類學(者)必須面對以及重新思考它的「研究對象」該如何界定,它的研究路徑與主題可以如何串聯並進行梳理。本課程將透過不同案例之介紹,引入人類學(者)對數位文化、科技以及「數位人」(cybernist)(一個現代社會的新階級)與社會互動、參與或介入的討論與分析,凸顯人類學視域對數位文化的近身觀察與深度理解。
