入門華語會話(二)

This course uses the textbook“Task-based listening & Speaking" and Handouts from instructor to help students develop proficient language skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing that would enable them to communicate effectively in their daily lives. The main purpose of this course is to enhance student's basic communication ability in Chinese. The communicative functions include: introducing self and others; describing people, objects, places and events; telling times and making appointments; discussing daily routines, etc. While learning the Chinese language, students will also be introduced to Chinese culture. Therefore, students who would like to develop their basic conversation skill in Chinese are welcome to this course.

1.For those who have taken Introductory Chinese I of the Chinese Language Course for International Students. 2. Or those who have taken Chinese for at least 36 hrs. (2 hrs/week). NOTE: Students who missed the first class will be dropped from the course.

Teaching Method: 1.Lecturing 2.After class written report 3.Group discussion 4.Exercise 5.e-teaching 6.Flipped classroom Reminders: 1. Character writing skill is required in this course. 2. Regular attendance is required, and students who have more than 5 unexcused absences will be failed. A total absence of 1/3 of course hours will lead to an automatic failure.

Evaluation: Attendance and Class Participation: 30% (Class attendance /Class involvement) Homework: 30% (Progress evaluation) Quizzes / Tests: 40% (Midterm exam /In-class exam /Oral Exam / Final report)
