This course is to instruct students with fundamental knowledge of chemical and physical processes of combustion. Mechanism of chemical reactions, theory of combustion, application to design of combustor, selection of fuels, and consideration of environmental effects will be covered. Students are expected to have deep comprehension of theoretical combustion concepts and practical combustion applications.
Thermodynamics (Sophomore level), Fluid Mechanics (Junior level)
TA might be assigned, depending on the number of enrollment. All of the class information and handouts will be posted on NCTU E-Learning course website, and students should frequently visit the website for the latest announcement.
Homework: Midterm: Final exam:
- Chemical Thermodynamics
- Chemical Kinetics
- Oxidation Mechanisms
- Premixed Flames
- Detonation
- Non-premixed Flames
- Environmental Combustion Considerations
- Combustion Diagnostics and Applications
