群試理論

Group testing is a special search methodology which finds various applications in recent years especially on DNA sequencing and Data pattern recognition. Besides computer aid, combinatorial mathematics play an important role in designing algorithms in order to achieve a better result in computing complexity. Therefore, our aim is to introuduce the design of both the adaptive algorithms and non-adaptive algorithms on various models.

Linear Algebra and Discrete Mathematics

I shall give the lectures mainly. But, everyone is welcome to talk about his or her "findings".

Two term papers each of weights 50%: One for mid-term and the other one for final.

We shall use Lecture notes of Hung-Lin Fu. Reference books are: 1. Combinatorial Group Testing and Its Applications and 2. Pooling Designs and Non-adaptive Group Testing both by Ding-Zhu Du and Frank K. Hwang
