大一英文(一)

Freshman English I is an integrated course designed to develop students’ four English skills (listening, speaking, reading, & writing) with an emphasis on speaking and listening. In this course, students will:  Identify listening problems and develop listening strategies and skills,  Gain confidence in speaking and improve speaking fluency, pronunciation, and conversation strategies,  Develop general reading skills, including word skills and comprehension strategies,  Develop writing fluency by giving students opportunities to articulate ideas in short writings of approximately 170-200 words. For example, students can respond to topics addressed in class through writing assignments that focus on content and expression of ideas, rather than the structure of the written English. Other practical examples could include emails, note-taking, letter writing or comments.

This means you are invited to be “Masters” not “Guests”.  Preparation: You are required to read the textbook material before class.  Participation: Active participation in classroom discussions and activities is essential to advance your English skills.  Assignments & Tests: No late work will be accepted and no make-up tests will be given unless it is for an official reason with prior approval.  Attendance: If you are absent, it is your responsibility to learn what was done in class that day. Every absence will lower your final grade by 2 points, and being late reduces it by 0.5 point (final score).  Exams: The mid-term will be a written exam that focuses in listening comprehension. 1.學期作業、考試、評量 (1)Attendance: 15% ***You are required to attend classes on time.
