The purpose of this course is to introduce the students the basic knowledge and techniques of classical Complex Analysis. Topics being covered in this course includes: The concept of holomorphic functions, power series expansion of holomorphic functions, Cauchy integration technique of path integral, the basic concept of Riemann surface, as well as special examples of conformal mappings.
A student taking this course must have a solid understanding and working knowledge of basic undergraduate analysis. In particular, a student should master all the basic material in the course Introduction to Analysis I. Without this preparation, a student will definitely find this course on Complex Analysis to be difficult.
weekly homework assignments will count a total of 25% of the final grade. Midterm 1 will count 20% of the final grade. Midterm 2 will count 25% of the final grade. Final Exam will count 30% of the final grade.
