Students are trained to write with grammatically correct sentences to form easily understood essays. Besides, they are required to analyze different modes of writing and the writing techniques used in each model essay depicted in the text book. In each chapter, reading precedes writing, which provides inspiration as well as instruction for actual writing tasks that follow.
Lecturing. in class writing, group discussion, and oral presentation
Assignments: Students should 1. Write 4 essays with a pre-writing, an outline and peer-editing. When the first draft has been corrected by the instructor, the revised version should be handed in at most two weeks later to complete the whole essay requirement; 2.give one group oral presentation on a specific subject listed on the syllabus focusing especially on analyzing the sample essay the group has chosen; 3. read textbook according to syllabus and answer questions to quiz given the following week. 4. peer edit other classmates' work Final Exam: Students are required to write an essay with a pre-writing, an outline with the thesis statement,and a peer-editing. Standard of Evaluation: Peer-editing 10% Final Exam and quizzes 30% Written assignment 40% Oral presentation 20%
