This is an introduction lecture for theory and modeling for nanophptonic devices and technology. It is designed for graduate students who are interested in nanophotonic technology and have basic electromagnetics and quantum physics background. It will cover the material which is studied and implemented typically for photonic crystals and surface plasmonics devices. It includes fundamental EM wave tools, photonic crystals cavity, lasers and waveguides, left-hand (meta)materials, superlense, plasmonic waveguides, and optical cloaking. Through this course, the students will see the map of photonic crystal technology and metamaterial/plasmonics as well as understand the related devices and their applications
