Today's fiercest business battles are taking place between competitor's global supply chains. As long as a company touches a physical product, it is part of a supply chain—and the company's success ultimately hangs on the weakest link in that chain. Only through logistic efficiency and effective management of the supply chain, a business can achieve the twin goals of cost reduction and service enhancement. This course would assist the student to get an overall understanding of supply chain management and global logistics. The course will cover supply chain planning procedures, design of distribution networks, and many supply chain management models such as cross-dock, QR, ECR, VMI, and SCOR. In addition, a strategic framework is introduced to help determine the best strategically fit supply chain for different products. Real-world examples and case studies are included as well.
