概述
This course aims to enhance students’ knowledge about syntax. The enrolled students need to use what they have learned in Syntax (I) to help them understand the materials distributed in the class. A variety of syntactic topics will be addressed in this course, which includes the interpretation of empty categories, the use of wh-phrases, the construction of questions, the formation of passives and relative clauses, modals, ergativity, ellipsis, and (pseudo-)sluicing. The arrangement of this course will equip the enrolled students with solid knowledge that they will need in the process of writing theses.
