評分方式

1. Class attendance (10%): Class attendance and quality participation are important to the success of this class. Students should make every effort to arrive on time and stay for the entire class. The instructor will take attendance spontaneously. Any absence will detract from a student's participation grade. Three unexcused absences will result in an automatic failure of the course(不可超過三次無故缺席). Absence from class cannot be an excuse for missing the important announcements, the delay of assignments and projects or asking for a make-up exam. 2. In-class and online activities (15%) -In-class activities: Reciprocal learning (Brown & Palincsar, 1985) is a method of instruction whereby the students learn through sharing in the construction of meaning among themselves and/or with the instructor. Students in this class will be divided into collaborative learning groups in which they will take turn participating in different learning roles (i.e., facilitator, summarizer, questioner, recorder, and reporter). Because this course is interactive in nature, your active participation and preparation will be a strong component of your final grade. -Online activities: Students in this class are expected to show active participation in the online course platform and regular use of online learning resources suggested by the instructor. 3. Midterm and Final Exams (20% each 40% in total): There will be NO MAKE-UP for the exams unless you made other arrangements with the instructor in advance of the absence. 4. Group project on assigned readings (10%) Who? You will work in a group of 4 to 5 people. What? Your group will summarize and present an assigned reading (15 minutes). The presentation is in English, and make sure that everyone in your group talk. 5. Required writing assignment (10%): 2 passages of 200 words each 6. GEPT related tasks (15%) -In-class GEPT mock exams -By the end of the semester, students must take at least 3 GEPT online tests at http://140.113.9.12:8000/ (新制中高級5~7三回聽力、閱讀全部做). -Use Self-Study Center resources (self-study stamps on VOD passport) (5%)
