This course aims to improve the enrolled students’ ability to understand journalistic English; it is arranged as follows. It will start with a discussion of the grammar and vocabulary commonly used in English newspapers, followed by the practice of listening comprehension. After excelling at receiving the ‘input’ of journalistic English, the students have to learn how to report a news by writing. Writing skills constitute an important part of this course, which will require the students to thoroughly think about relevant materials and then try to organize them in a logical way.
