This course will first introduce Emerging Technologies including AI. 5G and EDGE/FOG Computing. It is a project focus course, each of you will actually involve a design project with demo and presentation. We expect students have basic communication knowledge, BUT dedication is more critical for participating this course. Since it is a joined project, multiple disciplines are welcome.
Students who basic knowledge of wireless communications and be interested in IoT applicaitons
Besides of lecturing, we will ask each student to propose one IoT/FOG/AI application and demo scenario. From those ideas, we will select a few for team studies and development. Through this practice, we will have a better chance to learn the leading edge technologies in a practice way.
1. In-class discussion 10% 2. Homework with Topic presentation 20% 3. Individual and group Project Proposal 20% 4. Final Project demo, presentation and report (30%, 10%, 10%)
1. Handouts (based on most updated information) on IoT, 5G, EDGE/FOG Computing 2. Reference Architecture based on IEEE 1934 (an Fog Computing architecture)
