This course intends to bulid the following capability of the students: 1. Understand the available components and their limitations of CMOS process 2.Analyze analog integrated circuits 3. Understand the design arts of CMOS operational amplifiers and comparators 4. Build or modify the circuit design for different specification
1.Microelectronic Circuits I, II, III 2.HSPICE (Homework will extensively use HSPICE) 3.Introduction to VLSI design (optional) 4.Semiconductor devices (optional)
‧Students who cannot access Hspice, please apply for your own account in VLSI/CAD Lab. (635B) ‧Students who cannot access the spice model card should sign the nondisclosure agreement (NDA) from CIC/TSMC –After that, T.A. will send you CIC virtual 0.18um spice model card for your homework. Remember once you signed the NDA, you should delete the model file after this semester. Otherwise, you are responsible for all resulted legal issues according to the NDA. –On-line HSPICE tutorial is available at http://www2.cic.org.tw/training/e-learning.htm Other course related information will be announced on e3.
Two grading policies. Students can take either one. 1.General Mid-term exam. 25%, Term project 25% In-class and homework 50% Please note that no delayed homework will be accepted. 2.Specified Design Project (will be taped out) Proposals should be approved by Prof. H.-C. Hong before Oct. 1.
