This course provides a training platform for students to improve the skill of English presentation and how to organize scientific data in a clear and succinct format. Each student should present for 30 to 40 min on a topic chosen from an international scientific journals. The presentation should include 25-30 min speech and 5-10 min discussion.

Students should acquire the general knowledge in organic chemistry and are able to read, present, and discuss the scientific data in English.

Grading for the course is based on (i) preparation of slides; (ii) performance in presentation; (iii) timing of presentation; (iv) interaction with audience in discussion; (v) attendance and (vi punctuation.

Students can select a topic from scientific journals which are specialized in organic chemistry research. Examples of the journals are (i) Journal of American Chemical Society, (ii) Angewandte Chemie International Edition, (iii) Chemical Science, (iv) Chemical Communications, (v) Organic Letters, (vi) Nat. Communications, and (vii) Chemistry a European journal, etc. Recent publications (2015 to 2018) are preferred. Chemistry review papers are not recommended in seminar presentation
