This course introduces symbolic and connectionist (neural) applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in the design field. Students are expected to acquire the basic skills of intelligence programming in order to explore current issues of AI in design. This course also covers two main processes much discussed in AI and cognitive science: symbolic processing and connectionist (neural) processing.
This is one of the required courses for PhD students.
