We will introduce the theories, concepts, and methods of certain Applied Multivariate techniques in the theoretical and applied researches, including Cluster Analysis, Manova, Canonical Correlation Analysis, Discriminant Analysis, Principal Correlation Analysis, Exploratory Factor Analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis, Path Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling.
Students are expected to have basic knowledge on ANOVA, and Multiple Regression. Students who have not taken the required courses (e.g. Adv. Stats, IED 5895) have to meet with me before they register for this course.

40% Homework (A~A+:Includ. at least 2 self-constructed Qs related to AMA) 20% Term project and final presentation 10% Class presentation (In the end of each unit, oral present the papers related to the introduced AMA technique 15min) 10% In-class participation (come to class, ?, talk about statistical models; go to Facebook (交通大學教育所-多變量分析應援團2018) and share what you want to share) 20% Final Oral Exam Hand in your HW with the title of 學號_姓名_HW#.docx on time to e3 platform. Please succinctly and precisely present the tables and important values in red font to support your interpretation and conclusion in the assignments. You are encouraged to work with other students on the assignments. You will work with (maximum) one partners (i.e., 2 students per group) on the final presentation. You may analyze your own data or data which have been collected by other individual (as long as that individual has not analyzed the data addressing the same research questions you are attempting to answer). The final presentation (15-20 minutes) should include the following four sections: introduction, method, results, and discussion. You should apply the AMA techniques you learn from this course to your final project. Your group should schedule a meeting with me to talk about your final presentation at least two weeks before the date of the final presentation.
