概述
本課程從對所謂地方概念的反省出發,這個反省指出地方意識並非是天生就在那裡固著於地域的「自然」概念,而是一連串「地方型塑」(place making) 過程的結果。立基於這個思考,本課程從自然科學與經驗層次切入了解地方與空間,以及地方與認同過程之關係,從跨學科觀點了解空間生產。本課程將地方放在全球化脈絡中來了解,試圖檢視後現代/後殖民論述探討流動(或去地域化)政治與地方意識的辨證過程。本課程第二部分以都市問題為例,瞭解地方與空間政治的實際展現。
評分方式
學生必須仔細研讀每週指定閱讀,完成閱讀心得及摘要撰寫,輪流帶領課堂討論。學生應該積極參與課堂討論,與老師同學交換研讀心得。期中及期末各交一份報告,期中報告在5000字以內,題目由學生自定,但必須和課堂討論之概念或議題有關。期末報告必須為一較完整之研究報告,10000字為度,題目自定,但必須在繳交日期一個月前和授課老師討論。
