進階英文聽力與討論

This course aims to advance students’ listening and speaking skills. Students will further develop listening skills (e.g., identifying main ideas, details, making inferences, and note-taking) through less simplified and authentic listening materials. Students will also develop discussion skills through a variety of interactive activities. By the end of the course, students will learn to: (1) comprehend listening materials which cover more specialized or sophisticated topics, (2) identify and analyze points of view, arguments, or implicit information in the listening material, (3) lead and participate in effective group discussions and deliver oral presentations, (4) enhance note-taking and presentation skills, and (5) equip critical thinking skills.

英語程度相當通過GEPT中級初試(含)以上者 英語程度相當TOEIC「綠色」證書(含)以上成績者 備註:選課系統上之正選生若第一次上課未出席也未事先完成缺課請假程序,將視同放棄修課權利,名額將直接由候補者遞補。

(1) Attendance: * Attend classes and participate in class and activities * Late arrivals and unexcused absence for 3 times without prior approval or official reasons will affect your attendance mark. (2) Participation: * You are required to read assigned material (e.g. textbook or handout) before coming to class. * Active participation in classroom discussion and activities is also expected. (2) Assignments and Final Project: * Turn in each assignment on time. Scores will be deducted for late assignments. You will be asked to turn in the late assignment within one week. * Finish your group presentation collaboratively with your members. (3) Class Etiquette and Participation: * Turn off your cell phones during class ABSOLUTELY. Each cell phone ringing during class may affect the score in “participation”. * Dozing off or without a book will affect your grade. (4) Others * The details of assignments, group presentation, quizzes will be given in weekly course schedule and E3. * Adjustments may be made in the syllabus to meet students' needs and course requirements. * Intellectual Property Right: Use only copyrighted textbook in class. * No make-up exams will be given unless there is an official reason with prior approval.
