Course Objective: This course offers continuation of the first semester college physics to cover the domains of electricity and magnetism, electromagnetic waves and their macroscopic phenomena in interference, diffraction and polarization. Relativity that deals with the physics of fast moving objects and basic quantum physics in an introductory level will also be discussed towards the end of the semester. This second semester general physics is not only beneficial but constitutes a necessary foundation for students who are advancing to senior years in all disciplines of sciences and engineering. Course Outlines: The pedagogical elements of general physics (II) contains the following topics: 1. Electricity and Magnetism – electric fields and potential, capacitance and dielectrics, current and resistance, magnetic fields and their sources, inductance, DC and AC circuits, and electromagnetic waves. 2. Light and Optics – mainly focuses on the wave property of light (interference, diffraction, and polarization.) 3. Modern Physics – special relativity and introductory quantum phenomena
