The structure of many-electron atoms, the spectra of complex atoms (quantum dots, carbon nanotubes, graphene) Chapter 10 Molecular structure: The Born-Oppenheimer approximation Valence-bond theory Molecular orbital theory Molecular orbitals for polyatomic systems (introduction to organic light emitting diode) Chapter 12 Spectroscopy 1: rotational and vibrational spectra(for two-dimensional nano materials) Chapter 13 Spectroscopy 2: electronic transitions Course Requirements: a few home works plus three short exams and one final exam.
