This course has two goals. First, it aims at enhancing students’ skills in interpersonal communication as well as in public speaking. Second, it contains diverse homework assignments and in-class activities so as to train students to have better English listening and speaking abilities in various sorts of circumstances.
• Homework (including quizzes) 30% o Formosa TV English News (民視英語新聞) Things to do: upload your notes of useful expressions o Global news Materials to be found on the app of Learn ABC PBS news o One extra video clip Be prepared for a quiz related to the video May need to link the video content to some in-class activity May need to do a group or individual presentation related to the video • Class participation + Presentations 40% • Midterm exam 15% • Final exam 15%
