概述

In this course we will first focus on laser physics. We will develop the classical and quantum description of lasers. We will then introduce mode-locked lasers, which can produce ultrafast pulses. Finally, we show how to control and characterize ultrafast pulses. Terahertz generation and detection will also be covered.

先修科目

Prerequisite course: Optoelectronics (I). Students are assumed to have the basic knowledge of laser and electromagnetism. Student who haven’t taken Optoelectronics (I) should consult the instructor before enrolling the course.

1學期作業 Problem sets will be assigned at three-week intervals 2.考試狀況 One mid-term exam and one final exam 3.評量方法 Homework (50%), mid-term exam (25%), final exam (25%)
