The explosion of technological development and the computerization of every aspect of knowledge activities resulted in creation of large volume of technology related data. The same phenomenon can be observed in the field of intellectual property management where the number of granted patents worldwide has been remarkably increased. Therefore, it is critical to analyze a large number of patent data to discover new insights and implications for understanding how to formulate innovation strategy by the use of patent data. The objective of the course is to help student understand how to analyze patent data and map patented technologies by using proper methodologies and tools. The obtained patent analytics and patent visualization allow the possibility of evidence-based technological management and policy making
