Success or failure in business depends critically on the positioning of a company and the management of its resources. This course studies principles of leading organizations, how these organizations create business value and continue to grow within an always evolving global economy, and implications for small and medium enterprises and start-ups. Topics include design thinking for growth, accelerating growth through M&A, macro trend and technology interact and intertwine, business models and pricing, measurement and accountability, creative destruction, the development of new capabilities, and marketing. The course is taught using a combination of lectures, case analysis, journal and book chapter reading, and class discussion.
