This course targets academic writing, in particular, writing research articles and theses. It focuses on analysis, discussion, writing practice, and revision of the above genres. Lectures on the style of academic writing as well as the organization and linguistic features of research articles and theses will be given. Students are expected to be actively involved in classroom discussions and presentations. By the end of this course, students are expected to be able to 1.be familiar with the organization and style of theses and research articles; 2.be familiar with specific lexico-grammatical features of academic writing; 3.develop academic writing skills; and 4.demonstrate effective research reporting techniques
You should have taken "Research Methodology" before taking this course. *To enhance the efficacy of class activities, please bring your laptop to the class.
