The students will improve their reading comprehension skills (e.g., skimming for main ideas and scanning for specific details), increase vocabulary, and enhance critical thinking and speaking skills by extensively reading and discussing in-and-out of classes. Instead of learning from textbook, the reading materials used will be authentic, popular books and articles.
- 本課程無「先備能力」的要求,但有「先備態度」的期許。 - 本課程適合「真正」有心,且願意花時間學習以提升英文閱讀與口說能力的同學選讀。 - 本課程未採用教科書,而是以英語母語人士所喜愛的小說、散文書籍及網路熱門文章為主。期望在老師的引導下,使學生藉由本課程,走入真實、有趣的英文閱讀世界,增廣見聞,奠定終身廣泛英文悅讀的興趣與能力。 - 本課程沒有期中、期末考,但每週有課外閱讀作業(大約需花1.5小時),上課會以小組討論、分享、遊戲活動等輕鬆有趣的型態進行。 - 「偉大大學」是由一群有願景、願意走出舒適圈的師生所共同組成、創建的。本課程專為有理想、有抱負的交大人所設計。歡迎你和妳~ - 「非誠勿擾」!
*** No mid-term and final exam 1. Attendance: In-class participation and presentation (50%) Attend each class session on time (20%) Actively participate in discussion, activities, and Toastmasters presentations (30%) 2. Facebook Listening project「跟著交大學生一起飆英文閱讀2019」 (30%) Respond to ONE article every week, including (1) useful vocabulary, phrases, (2) favorite quote, and (3) short written reflection, 30 posts/semester.
