Mastery in vocabulary and sentence structures is the foundation of English writing. In addition to learning about characteristics of good writing, the course will also work on expanding your vocabulary, sentence structures, and mechanics. The midterm and final exam will assess your mastery of the vocabulary and grammatical structures we cover in the class. There are two writing assignments throughout the semester. All of the writing assignments should be typed as MicroSoft Word documents in double-spaced format. Make sure you grammar check and self edit your writing assignments before submitting them. The writing tests give you an opportunity to practice impromptu writing and learn to manage your time throughout the writing process. Academic Integrity All students are expected to adhere to the University policy concerning academic integrity. Cheating on the exam or other required activities will result in the failure of this course.
