For many organizations, regardless of their size, age and purpose, the need for ongoing creativity and innovation has become a necessity for achieving and sustaining their competitive advantage. How organizations understand and formulate effective strategy, create and maintain contexts that support strategic action is critical. This course provide students with both theoretical and hands-on understanding of some major concepts, practices, issues facing, and tools used in the management of creativity and innovation. The purpose is to generate a practical approach to the management of creativity and innovation in a firm, especially a start-up company. Points will be awarded by the instructor based on individual and group participation. Journal Paper Presentations (10%) In this exercise, students are required to read and present a review and critique of journal papers assigned to them. Students must submit a 15 minutes PPT to E3 by the given deadline. Creative Project (75%) Students are required to complete a creative project and present their project findings (an AR project, a poster, and a 15 minutes PPT). Details of the project will be announced in the class on week 6. In this project, students are required to provide fresh, creative solutions to Hsinchu City by using AR technology. These projects aim to give our students invaluable experience of creative problem solving, and the opportunity to apply their knowledge in the real world. Students must complete these projects in groups and submit written reports by the stated deadlines. Students also need to present their solutions to our partner organizations for evaluation, comments, and feedbacks. For each team, the presentation time is 15 minutes only.
