英語教學理論與方法

This course introduces graduate students to theories, research, and practices in teaching English as a second or other language (TESOL). Students will have opportunities to develop two kinds of knowledge as it relates to TESOL: pedagogical knowledge (i.e., concepts, theories, and research-based teaching strategies that are widely familiar to members of the TESOL family) and experiential knowledge (i.e., practice, observation of practice, and reflection on practice). In this course, you will develop the TESOL pedagogical knowledge through reading, class discussion, and work on a final project. You will also develop the experiential knowledge through observation of other teachers, teaching mini-lessons in class, and homework assignment in which you reflect on your own practice.

Due to the limited seats available, enrollment priority will be given to students of the Graduate Institute of TESOL. Undergraduate students enrolling in the course should expect a workload comparable to graduate level courses.
