認識語言

本課程目標為認識人類語言的基本特徵,包括語言的產出及聽覺感知(語音學)、聲音結合的模式(音韻學)、構詞的規則(構詞學)、句子的結構(句法學)、及語言的使用(語意學、語用學)。另一個目標為介紹分析語言之工具,包括使用語音軟體和使用語料庫,這些工具包括open access的語音軟體Praat (http://www.fon.hum.uva.nl/praat/)、中研院的平衡語料庫(http://asbc.iis.sinica.edu.tw/)、交通大學語音實驗室線上繁體中文剖析器(http://parser.speech.cm.nctu.edu.tw/)以及Google NLP API (https://cloud.google.com/natural-language/). 我們會特別著重在台灣中文、閩南語和英語。

- Homework assignments: You are encouraged to discuss homework with your classmates, but you must write up the answers on your own. All assignments must be your own. Homework is to be handed in at the beginning of the day it is due. No late homework will be accepted. If you cannot come to class, you should email your homework to the instructor or TAs before the class begins. Each homework assignment is worth 5 points and will be graded according to the following scale: 0 not handed in 1 handed in but completely off the point 2 only partially completed/understood 3 acceptable 4 good 5 excellent - In-class practice: There will be several in-class practices (TBA).
