Please finish the assigned tasks (see course schedule distributed by the teacher in week 1) before you come to the class. Your in-class participation will be evaluated. Attendance will be taken in the beginning of every class so please be on time. Two points will be deducted from your final grade for each unexcused absence. A valid proof is required for excused absences (e.g., being sick or attending conferences). Absence from class cannot be an excuse for missing important announcements or late assignments. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to find out what you have missed (e.g., check E3 or get notes & handouts from peers). 2. Midterm & Final Exams 30% There will be an in-class midterm and an in-class final exam based on the reading and writing materials covered in class. If you need to reschedule an exam date, you need to present a valid proof and inform me at least one week in advance. Otherwise, no make-up exams will be given. 3.
