有機化學(二)
Organic Chemistry (2)
The objective of the course is for students to develop an understanding the chemical properties of different functional groups in organic molecules. Basic concepts and application of NMR spectroscopy, IR-spectroscopy, and mass spectrometers are discussed. The course is also divided into module 3 and module 4. Module 3 covers the topics on: Reactions of alcohols, ethers, epoxides, amines, and thiol (chapter 11) Organometallic compounds (chapter 12) Alkanes: free radical reactions (chapter 13) Mass spectrometry, IR-spectroscopy (chapter 14) NMR spectroscopy (chapter 15) Module 4 covers the topics on: Reactions of carboxylic acids and carboxylic acid derivatives (chapter 16) Reactions of aldehyde and ketones (chapter 17) Enolate chemistry (chapter 18) Reactions of Benzene and substituted benzene (Chapter 19) 試讀:https://youtu.be/v6fuBsHlWro
Students who register for the organic chemistry II should have passed the course of the organic chemistry I.
Students take the module 3 or module 4 examination for the first time would get 100% full score. Students who retake the module 3 or module 4 examination, would only get 80% full score.
Students should solve the problems followed the end of each book chapter. Module 3 examination will be held on Nov-23-2019 (Saturday) and Feb-8-2020 (Saturday). Module 4 examination will be held on Nov-23-2019 (Saturday) and Feb-8-2020 (Saturday).
