This is the second half of Engineering Mathematics designed to be a full academic year course. This course is to establish the fundamental mathematical knowledge for sophomore mechanical engineering students. Vector calculus, linear algebra, Fourier analysis, and partial differential equations will be covered in this course.
Calculus
All of the course material will be posted on new e3 including lecture notes and homework solutions. All the material covered by English in class will be repeated again in mandarin. Homework are graded by effort not by correctness while all late submission (after solution posted) receives only half of the total points. Exam corrections will be given as extra points for both midterms, but not for the final exam. ※ For all quarantined students, QC3 (both real time and recorded) links will be posted on new e3. But in order to make sure all students are on the same page, links will only be available until 11:59 pm on the day that it is recorded. Homework: 15% (grade by effort) Midterm 1 & 2: 25% each (10 extra pts given for each exam correction) Final: 35%
