This is a course of 3 credit units for graduate and senior undergraduate students. This course combines lectures and laboratory with emphasis on practical benchwork. The objective is to have students implement circuit design theories and learn measurement techniques in the high frequencies from megahertz to gigahertz by calculation, simulation and hand-on practices. Students need to observe and characterize the nonideal parasitic effect to complete assigned weekly projects. The term project will be wireless transmission with the maximum available power over the air. Topics include: • Characterization of passive and active components • Transmission lines (S-parameters, and Smith chart) • Amplifiers, impedance matching, and noise • Resonators, oscillators, and VCO • Planar antenna and signal transmission
Microelectronics, Electromagnetics, fundamental knowledge of microwave theory
1. 每週兩小時教室課,解說測量原理以及元件結構。 2. 每週ㄧ小時實作教學,由助教示範儀器操作。之後個別找時間練習。 3. 限額20人,優先順序為:電研所碩一、電研所博士班、電工系大四學生、電研所甄試錄取生、本校研究生、本校研究所甄試錄取生、外校研究生。
Lab. reports 40%; Midterm Project 20%, Final Presentation 40%.
