This course examines topics associated with the science and applications of electronic, primarily semiconducting, materials that exhibit specific electrical and/or electronic properties, The relationships between electronic and physical properties of these materials are taught to better understand why certain materials are chosen for certain functions in various types of applications. This course will be delivered in four parts by different lecturers---1. Semiconductors (Edward Yi Chang) 2. Polymer and Composites (Kung Hwa Wei) 3.Metals and Alloys (King Ning Tu) 4. Electrical Ceramics (Haydn Chen). Each part covers about four weeks of lectures.
