概述

A study on physical and chemical properties at surfaces and interfaces, particularly, in a nanometer scaled size. Applications to material sciences and engineering are emphasized. (強調材料表面物理與化學特性在材料科技的應用, 特別是材料奈米尺度的特性應用。 Topics included in the class are listed below: 1. Surface structures (表面微結構), 2. Electronic structure of surfaces (分子與表面電子態結構), 3. Surface adsorption (氣體分子之表面吸附現象), 4. Dynamics of surface processes (表面反應動力學), 5. Surface analyses and vacuum technology (表面分析方法與真空技術), 6. Surface diffusion and thin film growth (表面擴散與薄膜成長), 7. Applications: oxidation, etching, fuel cells, photocatalysis, gas sensing (材料表面物化特性應用:氧化反應,蝕刻反應,燃料電池,光催化,氣體感測等。).

先修科目

General physics and general chemistry (not necessary but better with basic knowledge of materials science and fabrication of semiconductor materials) 普通物理與化學 (如果具備基礎材料導論,半導體材料製作知識更佳)

教學方式

The class is presented mainly with slides prepared with Microsoft power point. Lecture notes in pdf format will be provided. (提供pdf檔講義,課程以液晶投影機及黑板講解)
