本課程為生物科技學院「實驗動物模式模組化課程」之一,將介紹實驗動物常見的健康異常與疾病,其在動物實驗過程中對動物的影響,以及對實驗結果判讀可能造成的干擾。首先將導入引發疾病發生的基本概念,而在嘗試辦識疾病之前必須了解動物在健康狀況下、所呈現正常行為學、解剖學、及組織學等方面的知識。因此本課程將以最常見的實驗動物,即小鼠及大鼠,和同學最熟悉的物種,即人類,在解剖學及組織學的層面進行比較,點出其相似及不同之處,以建立對正常動物應有的形態學相關知識。隨後簡介和疾病發生息息相關的微生物學與寄生蟲學,辦識疾病的病理學,介紹實驗囓齒類、兔、犬、貓、非人類靈長類等動物常見的健康異常與疾病,還有這些疾病的診斷、治療、預防方法等,以及實驗大、小鼠正規病理解剖的流程。此外,課程中也將特別強調實驗動物有關的人畜共通傳染病,以使同學在專注動物實驗的同時,也具備相關知識以保護自身免於受到這些傳染性疾病的侵害。
不限,歡迎對實驗動物解剖、組織、病理、及疾病有興趣的同學選修。
