It is about how an interaction designer might start with a single idea and then continually evolving, shaping, and developing it. Prototyping is the activity of exploring a design space and developing design ideas. The common prototyping techniques include scribble sketching, photo traces, paper prototype, storyboards with a series of scenes, cardboard mock-up, video prototype simulating user scenarios, or digital prototype with limited functionality. In the first part of this course, we will explore issues surrounding the practices of information visualization (Poster design, Interface design elements). For the second part, the course will focus on constructing VR360 prototypes and EFP video production. Last, Unity, the most popular real-time development platform, will be introduced to explore the possible design concepts of VR environment.
Introduction to Human-Computer Interaction User Experience Design
Course structure: As a general rule, a total of 18-week classes will be carried out by two formats: lecture and studio. This class includes lecture and Studio weeks For the studio weeks, the students will get to familiar with various production tools and software. Course Attendance: In the lecture weeks, students are expected to complete the weekly readings prior to the class meetings and join online discussion on the New E3 class site. If you expect to miss class or arrive late, please let the instructor know in advance. Only ONE absence (no reason need) is allowed.
Individual Assignments (15%): Assignment 1: NCTU CJM poster - Inform Graphic design based on week 2 & 3 readings (5%) Assignment 2: Photos for Visual interface elements based on week 2 & 3 (10%) 6.3 Group Projects (85%): Project 1: Short film (2mins.
