1. 本課程由授課老師選定14部電影,另開放2部電影由同學推薦,作為上課的研究文本。 This course will introduce 16 films: 14 art films chosen by instructor and 2 films chosen by students in class. 2. 這堂課的主要目的是透過藝術電影的欣賞、文獻的閱讀來思索自己與他人生命的意義,並學習如何進行電影研究。修課同學將探討隱喻與視覺符號在電影中的使用與其意義,並進一步將課堂中所討論過的電影與自己做聯結,以對某一導演或電影之見解出發,完成相關創作或研究。 This course focuses on how films can provoke us to mediate the meaning of our personal lives, as well as others’, in a classroom setting where film is used as a vehicle to teach visual symbols and metaphors. Based on research and interpretation, students will write two response papers/essays and create art/design work.
對藝術電影有興趣之學生皆適合選修(外系所學生亦可)。 Open to all students who are interested in art films.
上課時宣布 To be announced
(1) 每位同學自由選擇2部電影(其中至少有1部是在課堂中討論過的),分別完成2篇短評。two short film critique esseys. (2) 同學分組認領一部電影作深入分析與課堂報告。each student gives a PPT report in class of his/her chosen film. (3)期末完成一件創作或一篇研究論文(選其一)。A final project of a studio work (any media will be honored) or a research paper. 創作作品可以選擇以下方式進行:(a)電影片頭製作 (b)DVD封面、影片相關資料手冊和宣傳等相關設計 (c) 與電影相關的藝術創作,如手機微電影、數位影像、短片或錄像創作等等,媒材形式不拘。 Grades will be based primarily on efforts and successful completion of the assignment specifications. Improvement throughout the semester and class participation will also be factors in your grade. Students can consider the following options for their final project: research paper, film title design, DVD package and film poster design, digital arts, or micro film etc.
