This class aims to introduce recent progress in the studies on laser manipulation and fabrication of organic and bio matters and to transfer my research reality to graduate students. The lecture consists of three parts. First, fundamental concepts of molecular excitation, relaxation, energy transfer, and electron transfer are explained, and necessary spectroscopy and microscopy methods are summarized. Second, laser trapping of microparticles and nanoparticles is explained and its extension to molecular systems is considered. Third, starting from non-linear photochemical processes, electronic and molecular mechanism of laser ablation is proposed, and its application is introduced. Mid-term and final examinations are planned.
