This course is meant to give students a chance to practice English presentation in front of an audience and to explore topics of their choosing academic papers published in recent three years. Students will organize their presentations for other students. The topics of your presentation should be an aspect of chemistry and must be approved by the lecturer in advance (meet the schedule for deadline). Must not give your presentation similar to the one you have already delivered in another class. To help students improve as speakers, each student will receive feedback from the fellow students and the instructor. After your seminar, arrange a time to meet with me to discuss your performance.

No need

First, you select 3-5 academic papers in an aspect of chemistry. The papers should be published in the last three years of 2018-2020. The selected papers should be sent to me to check the contents by noon of ONE WEEK before your presentation day. You also must choose to use PowerPoint for your presentation. It is also your responsibility to arrange for any piece of equipment if you want. Each student will give about 30-40 minute presentations followed by question time. Tell a complete story about your chosen topic. You should be thoroughly familiar with the paper on your topic. Explain concepts simply and clearly, and define all terms and acronyms. Be prepared to answer questions after your seminar. Your final grade will be determined by several factors: the quality and content of your presentation, your improvement from the first to the second, your participation in the class as a whole, and your ability to meet scheduled deadlines.
