This course aims to provide the students with the essential sociolinguistic concepts, and to increase the students’ sociolinguistic competence and sensitivity.
Introduction to Linguistics I, II
Class participation and homework 25% o Homework: Small-scale research, observation of language uses, reflection, and etc. E3 submission (by Tuesday night) & class discussion Final hard copy submission Midterm exam 25% Final exam 25% Group project 25% (mostly 3 people in one group) o Oral presentation At least one week before the presentation, discuss your materials with the instructor during class breaks or/and after class o Written report submitted within three weeks after your presentation
