本課程教授田野研究法。首先講授人類學作為一個學科與田野工作的密切關係,田野工作在此不只被視為一個方法,同時還是學科之標記,以及人類學家養成過程中最關鍵之通過儀式。因此本課程將探討田野工作之技術層面,還會試圖進入田野中的經驗、認同與情感問題,以及倫理與權力的處境中,同時本課程還會觸及後田野工作中的概念化和寫作過程,以提供完整的人類學研究法介紹。
第一次上課前閱讀Tim Ingold, "That's Enough about Ethnography" (https://www.haujournal.org/index.php/hau/article/view/hau4.1.021) 修課同學必須在學期初選擇一田野場域,並在期中報告裡提出一田野主題,進入調查, 期末時進行口頭分享,並繳交報告
