This course will introduce major concept and techniques of digital communication including review of random process, digital modulation techniques, optimum receivers under AWGN channels, bandlimited channels and fading channels. In addition, basic information theory concept will be introduced. Finally, advanced state-of-art digital modulation techniques including OFDM, OFDMA and SC-FDMA schemes will be introduced, followed by basic MIMO concept introduction. This course is intended for Senior level and graduate level students.
Must: Probability, Principles of Communication Systems(通訊原理I). Strongly suggested: undergrad數位通訊原理(or通訊原理 II), Stochastic Processes.
Home Works 20% (6-8 sets, possibly with Matlab or C simulations). Copying of HW is not allowed. Overdue HWs will not be accepted and graded. Midterm 35%, Final Exam 45%. Office Hours: (Tentative) Fri. 9:30-11:30
