The study of innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems has received considerable attention in recent years. Policy makers are beginning to design and implement policies that would promote the development of innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems. This course exposes students to the theoretical underpinnings of the concepts of innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems, different business models in the context of innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems, and strategies for entrepreneurial ecosystem orchestration. It also introduces students to the basic of research methods for conducting meaningful inquiry and research in innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems through both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. Students will be exposed to the forming of research objectives, research philosophies, research design, methodology and technique, data analysis, presentation, and academic writing. There is an emphasis on research techniques used in technology management research. The course includes lectures, seminars, in-class discussion and exercises, readings, presentations, and project writing.
