Embedded systems are widely used in our daily lives, which makes a large number of electronic devices and gadgets possible. In order to let students experience designing embedded systems using both MCU and FPGA, a series of experiments were designed around the course. Arduino Uno will be used to introduce the basic concepts of MCU architecture and embedded software design. The Arduino MKR Vidor 4000 will be used in FPGA experiments. The course ends with the student's semester project, which will be to design a simple MCU on the mentioned FPGA board.
C/C++ programming experience. Basic electronic knowledge.
