概述
The objective of this course is to give a survey of mathematical methods for the solution of problems in the applied sciences and engineering. In particular, the following topics will be covered: 1. Green's functions 2. Method of eigenfunction expansions 3. Calculus of variations 4. Perturbation methods
先修科目
Linear algebra; Analysis; Differential equations.
評分方式
Homework assignments (25%); three exams(75%).
教科書
There is no required textbook for the course. Suggested references: 1. "Applied Mathematics" by J. D. Logan. 2. "Boundary Value Problems of Mathematical Physics, vol 1" by I. Stakgold. 3. "Perturbation methods" by E. J. Hinch.
