概述

Based on mathematical models, the objective of this course is to analyze the problems and present the solution algorithms for the planning and resource scheduling problems in a logistics system. The main issues covered in the course include forecasting analysis, inventory management, production/operations planning, operations scheduling and project planning and scheduling. In particular, the decisions problems for both planning (long-term) and operational (short-term) levels are discussed. In addition, this course not only addresses the problems from the methodology point of view, but also put considerable emphasis on the practical sides of logistics management. Finally, the course incorporates the software package application (e.g., EXCEL) and the programming skill training so as build up students' experience and capability to solve the practical problems that might be encountered in the field.
